Soviet Epoch Tour in St Petersburg

At the beginning of the tour you will be picked up from your hotel (your guide will meet you in the lobby) and will be brought by a comfortable air conditioned vehicle to the Soviet Era Museum. It is the first museum of Soviet lifestyle which is completely dedicated to the Soviet history of the 1917-1990s.

On the way to museum your guide will tell you about Soviet history and outstanding Soviet people. You will also make several photo stops to see Soviet monuments and buildings. Among them are: monument to Vladimir Lenin, former largest city cinema «Giant», monument to Michael Kalinin, the participant of Russian revolution of 1917.

Driving to museum will take about 1 h depending on your hotel location and on the traffic.

The excursion in Soviet Era Museum takes from 1.5 h, and then you will have free time for taking pictures, shopping and there is a cafe in museum to have a cup of coffee. Excursion in museum is guided by museum guide - in English or in any other language you have ordered in advance.

Museum guide will lead you through a great historical epoch. You will learn how Soviet people fought and built their life, worked, spent their free time. You will get to know which tasks and projects existed, how Soviet people served in the Army and fought for their homeland, revived cities and villages after the WW II, conquered the Arctic and outer space. Also we will talk about the great scientists and the most important personalities from the history of the USSR. The museum presents the rare and unique exhibition of Kornilov porcelain as well as the items made in the USSR times.

After museum visit you will be brought back to your hotel. Your guide will answer your questions about Soviet history.
