Thank you Luca and his lovely aunt for a fantastic cooking class! We warmly recommend it. Luca taught us a little bit about Italian and Roman cuisine, and then we cooked some penaccota and pasta. This class is definitely one of the best things to do in Rome, and was the highlight of our vacation. We cannot wait to cook this Roman meal back home.
OMG! The best cooking class that my family has ever taken in Rome!! When we arrived at our chefs house, everyone in their family came outside to great us- the chef, his mother, his sister and, later, his cousin who arrived to help and eat with our group. We were given wine and a beautiful cheese and olive platter to snack on while we helped to prepare our meal which consisted of the most delicious homemade fettuccine pasta with sausage ragu that I have ever eaten, along with stuffed zucchini and even a panna cotta desert! The best part of all- we helped to make the entire meal! The family was warm and wonderful, teaching us how to make everything from scratch and interacting with us like we were a part of their family. Although we entered their house as strangers, we felt as though we left as friends. This was truly a memorable class!!
THE ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT!! I love this family. The experience was fantastic! From the market to the the meal and everything in between. It was so authentic and so amazing. We will come back to them every time we come to Rome. Amazing, educational, and delicious!
Best thing we did in Rome! We arrived at their home and created a menu with Luca and then headed to the market. The market tour was amazing and we got to try the best olives, cheeses and breads while shopping for our food. When we returned we prepped food and cooked with Luca, his aunt and his niece and nephew in the kitchen. It was like being a part of a real Italian family. We will definitely be returning when we come back to Rome and recommending to friends and family. Best experience.
Amazing experience during our recent trip to Rome! We 4 adults took the Market Tour cooking class and had a blast. 2 of our party enjoy cooking and 2 me and my brother do not cook and were only taking the class for our spouses. Well, I don't know who had more fun - the cooks or the non-cooks. Peter, our chef, took us to the market which was such a fun experience. We tasted meats, cheeses, breads and wine as he explained what he was choosing for our class. Once back at the family home, we prepared the most delicious meal of Pesto Linguini
My friend and I had a wonderful experience with Luca. We toured a market where we had a sample plate of meat, cheese and olives while we shopped for the dishes. When we returned to the home, we made gnocchi and sauce, Marsala and a beautiful and tasty dessert with ricotta. Luca and his aunt were friendly and kind. Luca answered all of our questions, not only about Italian food but also about Italy. It was one of our best experiences in Rome so far and we would definitely do it again! I highly recommend!
Absolutely worth while! We chose the market tour and 3 course meal morning class. When we arrived we were able to choose what would be cooked. The chef listened to everyone's suggestions and did his best to accommodate. The market tour was so much fun. It was a chance to see real Italian living as we were not in a tourist location. We sampled wine, cheese and cured meats which were all delicious. The guide showed us about typical ingredients used in an Italian home and give lots of other interesting info at the market. After we made tiramisu, which was the best dessert to learn how to make in my opinion. Everyone was able to be as involved as they wanted to be, which was nice. We then made THREE kinds of pasta. All 3 were what Rome is known for so I was pleased with the selection. Carbonara, caccio e peppe and Amatriciana. Lastly we made veal saltimbocca. We then ate in their beautiful home with their family which was a really nice touch as I was able to see a real Italian household and learn more about the Italian culture. Overall I'd do it all over again and I would recommend it to anyone!
