Hot Air Balloon Flight Over Sigulda National Park
Get a birds eye view of the Gauja Valley just outside Riga. The Valley is also known as 'the Switzerland of Latvia' and as well as the scenery the balloon will also fly over the town of Sigulda where you can see the many castles and historic buildings as well as the bobsleigh run and cable-car which links the two sides of the Gauja Valley gorge. Flights are either in the morning or evening and launch site is decided with regards to weather conditions to ensure the optimum scenic route is taken.
Weather conditions: The hot air balloon flight is highly dependent on the weather: clouds, precipitation, visibility and the wind force. Usually, the weather conditions are foretasted in advance, but sometimes a preliminary forecast is inaccurate or incomplete. Therefore, even on arrival at the launch place the flight may be postponed for safety reasons.
Clothing: The most appropriate clothing for the flight is cotton clothing covering the whole body. High-heel shoes are not allowed on board!
Insurance: Every passenger on board is insured by the special aviation insurance.
Other information: It is strictly forbidden to drink alcoholic beverages immediately prior to and during a hot air balloon flight. It is strictly forbidden to use sharp objects and objects made out of glass during the flight. Persons under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and are not allowed to take a flight alone. In addition, children who are shorter than 1.10 m are not permitted to fly.
