Evora was very interesting and worth the time. Lunch was also very good. The bus was comfortable. However, we did not go to a wine region or a wine cellar. We were steered to the second floor of a restaurant in Evora to sample some wines. That was disappointing and not what I expected.
A good tour but our coach was stopped by the Police for 45 minutes in part because of a cracked windshield. The violations were not explained.
An unforgettable day to Evora and the wine district . Diana the tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable, easy to understand. The lunch included was excellent as well, typical Portuguese meal.
Evora is truly worth seeing with the churches, chapels and cathedral, Roman Temple is small but worth seeing. Lunch was great but wine tasting was a little disappointing, it seemed like the winery wasn't prepared for the visit. One red wine was served only, they were more interested in selling wine. But if you can't taste it to see what you want to buy you are not going to sell a lot of wine.
We expected a lot from this tour considering the reputation of Evora, and so were a little bit disappointed by the limited number of interesting sites visited. A good lunch was served in the pleasant garden of a restaurant. We did not really learn much from visiting the wine cellar of a local producer. The tour concluded with a short wine tasting session.
This is a typical 'big bus' tour. Inexperienced guide, uninterested in the events of the day. The bus A/C broke. Temp rose to 36 C inside the bus for hours. She did nothing nor apologized. Wine part is very weak. If you really know wine, this is a one stop, cheap slip and your gone. Skip this for a smaller tour or don't even go.
Day started badly with a mix-up at the transfer point. Enjoyed this trip a lot as it was a small but very diverse group of people and the tour guide couldn't have tried harder to make it work.
