Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is one of Kyoto’s top sights. We will be walking through the bamboo groves.

Stop At: Nonomiya Shrine, Sagano Miyamachi 1, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto 616-8393 Kyoto Prefecture

This shrine is surrounded on all sides by the bamboo groves. Despite its small size, the shrine has a lengthy history which your host is going to tell you.

Get away from the crowd and visit a place where locals go. Gioji is a small temple of interest in that it is a Buddhist nunnery - with a story.

Tenryuji is the most important temple in Kyoto's Arashiyama district. It was ranked first among the city's five great Zen temples, and is now registered as a world heritage site.
