Stavros and Aristotle

For years Syngrou Avenue has been leading travelers and locals from Athens to Faliron. The avenue has more or less the same direction as the ancient street Faliriki Odos, a street connecting the city to its commercial port: Faliron.

At both sides of the modern avenue are located Greece's two of the most important cultural institutions; the Onassis Cultural Center and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.

Focusing on the long Greek shipping heritage, the tour will present the success stories of Aristotelis Onassis and Stavros Niarchos, world famous shipping tycoons. Our guests will have the chance to marvel the much praised, brand new Niarchos Foundationpremises, which will soon house the new Opera and the new National Library.

At Faliron our guests will stroll next to the sea and admire from up close the early 20th century battleship Averof which participated in both World Wars and a replica of an ancient Greek trireme.
