Cette visite d’une demi-journée en petit groupe commence par un transfert depuis votre hôtel ou appartement. Si votre hôtel ou appartement n’est pas accessible (zone piétonne, par exemple), nous vous désignerons un lieu proche pour venir vous chercher.

Passe devant: Glyfada Beach, 18 Diadochou Pavlou Paralia Glyfadas tram station, Glyfada 166 75 Grèce

Vous longerez les routes côtières en passant par certaines des plus belles banlieues d’Athènes (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) et en admirant une vue imprenable sur le golfe Saronique ainsi que sur la banlieue sud moderne d’Athènes.

Arrêt à: Sounio Beach, 68 Klm Athens-Sounio Ave. under the ancient Temple of Poseidon, Sounio 19500 Grèce

Après 50 minutes de route le long de la route côtière et à travers des plages idylliques et des petits villages, vous ferez votre premier arrêt sur une plage proche. Détendez-vous au bord des eaux bleues profondes de la mer Égée et savourez des rafraîchissements, une bière ou un repas léger. La plage est également propice à la baignade (disponible de juin à septembre), n’oubliez pas d’apporter votre maillot de bain.

Le dernier arrêt sera au temple dédié au dieu de la mer, Poséidon. Votre hôte, un chauffeur-guide, vous fournira des informations générales sur ce temple du Ve siècle av. J.-C.

Not sure why the tour started at 4:30 when sunset was not till 7:30. We were in a fifteen person van but couldn't hear anything that the guide was saying along the way. He had a mike but it was difficult for him to use while he was driving a stick shift! Once we got to Sounion, he was helpful getting us in line to go to the top where the sunset was brilliant. On the way back he stopped at a point where we could take great picture of the Poseidon Temple all lit up. Highly recommend this trip.

The guide spoke excellent English and was very informative about Greek culture. He was careful and experienced in navigating the journey to Cape Sounion and the evening tour of the Poseidon Temple. He allowed plenty of time for questions and took us to several other spots which were not listed, including a brackish lake on the way South (where a wedding party was being prepared) and an excellent restaurant on the beach. The sunset tour of the Poseidon Temple is well worth it, even after a very long day of touring the Acropolis and its museum in 95 degree weather. Strongly recommended.

The driver did not know details about one of the places we stopped, such that I had to research it while on the van. I felt him to be less informed than the other tours. The temple was terrific in every way, but that had nothing to do with the driver. The worst part was, it was dark and he dropped my daughter and I off on an unfamiliar street. We had to find our way back, which was several blocks from our hotel. We also had to walk to another hotel to get picked up, but as it was light, it didn't matter as much. This is meant to be a warning to anyone who books this tour to be mindful that you might not end up where you want!

What a magnificent ending to our dream vacation to Greece. The drive along the Greek Riviera is wonderful and the view and sunset at the temple are amazing. The tour guide was awesome. Funny, friendly and well versed and had only been with the company for a short time. The van was well maintained, comfortable and safe.

This was one of our favorite things we did on our trip! Cape Sonunion and Temple of Poseidon were picturesque, and so much history! Our driver was funny and nice as well as informative. He even took us to one of his favorite local restaurants in a little town outside of Athens after the sunset which was great to eat in a locals kind of restaurant. Would highly recommend.

The countryside is beautiful and when you have a good group on the bus, it can be real fun. Poseidon's Temple needed a guide to help really tell its story. Our tour guide was adequate but could have offered more by way of history and interpretation.
