The tour was good and Atilla the tour guide was informative as well as descriptive throughout the tour without missing any informations. It allows me to fully understand the history of the museums and Istabul as a whole. The team was also providing a fast response with regards to hotel pickups and more. Totally worth the time and will recommend this to my other friends/families.
Sedat looked after us so well and nothing was too much trouble for him. He is very proud of Istanbul and Turkey and toured us around the sites and told us of the history. We had an excellent lunch and boat trip on the Bospherous as the Topkapi is closed on Tuesdays. Thoroughly recommend this tour and Sedat in particular.
The Guide was very knowledgeable. The only criticism I have is we only spent 30 mins in the main areas of the tour, blue mosque and Ayasofya. But we were left for 1.5hrs at the bazaar. This could of been better spent at the main elements. I would recommend people arrange their own tours as all the areas are within 10 mins walk of each other. You would then have adequate time to take in each of the sites.
The lady tour guide was friendly and experienced, but the place she recommended for purchases at Grand Bazzar could not be trusted. While the the prices of Turkey Delights were fair, the prices of nuts and tea were grossly over priced, e.g. dates were priced at Lira 390 per kg as compared to Lira 40- 50 per kg at other places. Even if there is any quality difference (which I do not think so), it is still grossly overpriced to trick unknowing, trusting visitors.
We had a very good time on this tour, it was a vero good idea to enter Hagia Sophia early since there were long lines after 11am. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
The guided tour was great, tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative on all aspects of the tour. Without a guide to explain things the sites would not have been so interesting. Skip the lines well worth it. Lunch was in a nice restaurant with good meals. A great way to see all the main attractions in one day.
Tour guide was very organized , speaks fluent english . Its a beautiful country I would go back there again .
Pickup time was listed on the tour at time of booking. This was then re-confirmed at the time when the tour was required to be re-confirmed with the local Tour Operator. He also said if there were any changes in the next few days prior to the tour. a message would be left for me at the hotel. No message when I checked in so 8:30am as agreed, must be the pickup time still. No. A fairly agitated man is at the hotel front desk saying he is leaving in 5 minutes. This is at 7:45am. It seems all the booking details and reconfirmation calls are complete nonsense. We collect others along the way and meet what seems will be a group of 17 for the tour. Well not quite because one group of 4 is not there yet and will likely be another 30 minutes. This proved to be the theme of the day overall. Lots of pauses and waiting for what on many occasions seemed to be for no apparent reason. The guide seemed very nice and was courteous at all times This tour was just constantly stopping and doing nothing in between sites for no good reason. Not because people were tired, not to allow for shopping time or breaks. Stopping to talk for 10-15 minutes about an authentic place we were going to stop and have a coffee and team break. It turned out to be a visit to a carpet store where we sat for a sales pitch for 20 minutes and no there was no coffee or tea. This to me is wasted time. This tour does cover the major highlights of Istanbul. It could just be run in a much more professional manner.
We got very lucky with our professional guide, Selcuk Ersan. He made the tour very interesting. He was extremely knowledgeable and could answer any questions. Due to a politician visit, Blue Mosque was closed but the next day when we walked by, he happened to be leading the tour with a different group. He spotted us and kindly asked us to join. Thus we completed the tour. Then he gave us a few suggestions for our own tour of Istanbul. I highly recommend the tour and hope you'll be lucky enough to get Selcuk.
Very thorough tour, and excellent tour guide! Extemely knowledgeable, polite and funny. Would definitely recommend to my friends
Thorough and flexible schedule
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, our only criticism was trying to hear what our guide was saying, as it was quite a big group. The lunch was lovely.
The tour was great. We had a group of about 8 people and our tour guide Atilla Ersan was very very accommodating of everyone’s needs. I highly recommend getting a tour because the lines get insanely long and with a guide you brush past everything. He had much detail and fun facts about all the sites and answered our questions. He also gave us few minutes of free time at each location to explore
This was a wonderful tour of the main sights of Istanbul. Because it was Easter weekend and also a major cycle race through the city, the traffic was so congested so our wonderful tour guide took us on foot from sight to sight, which was better than traveling the short distances in a mini bus. It allowed us to see much more and the sights were quite close together anyway. We can't speak highly enough about our guide, Selcuk Ersan, who did an incredible job explaining everything in detail, giving us a very clear understanding of all that we saw and did. We had an awesome day with you Selcuk, thanks so much mate! Regards, Sheryl and John
It was a wonderful tour, just enough to "whet one's appetite" and see a brief overview of the main attractions. Our guide Emel was FANTASTIC, very knowledgeable, very fun and funny, very patient, and overall a lovely tour guide. The other members of the staff (bus drivers, etc.) were also incredibly polite and kind. A top experience - HIGHLY recommended!
well paced, relaxed tour, great guide - know his history well, knows his sites well. Good introduction to all of turkish culture including turkish food.
Excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Great intro to key sights in Istanbul. More time needed to see Topkapi. Perhaps a second day at the palace will do the trick.
This was one of the best tours I've taken. Canan was our guide and she is very experienced, knowledgeable, and personable. Be prepared for a lot of walking, our legs were pretty tired the next day. All the historic sites are amazing, just make sure to dress appropriately for the Blue Mosque, and the lunch was delicious. I've already recommended this tour to others traveling to Istanbul.
I wish it had been clearer that the Topkapi palace was closed on Tuesday, our only day in Istanbul. The tour substituted a boat ride in the Bosphorus, which was also very nice. Very small group, so asking questions was easy. The guide dropped us off near the Cistern of Justinian, which we wanted to see but isn't on the tour.
If you're on a short visit, this is a great tour to see the main attractions and get a historic background of the city. Our guide Selcuk was amazing and extremely knowledgeable . In addition to the historic overview and highlights of turkish culture and tradtions, he made sure to give us all the tips and advice to make our stay in Istanbul enjoyable and comfortable. We had a very nice day. Lovely city... will be coming back to see a lot more
