2-Day Mai Chau Valley Experience from Hanoi

Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau (L,D)

Between 7:30-8:00am, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned van. Depart for Mai Chau Valley, passing Cun and Thung Khe pass. Stop for photos of the picturesque Mai Chau Valley at the top of Thung Nhuoi pass. By noon, you will have arrived in Mai Chau town. Continue driving to Lac village as well as Pom Coong village to be greeted by your host. Leave your luggage in the stilt house before enjoying a traditional lunch in the village at 12:15pm.

Come the afternoon, cycle around the village with the local tour guide and observe farmers working in fields and villagers weaving scarves. In about 2-hours, you will have cycled amongst rice fields, stilt homes, and streams. Purchase embroidery as souvenirs if you like as well. At 6:00pm, pay a visit to the Thai living museum for a traditional dinner before watching a traditional dance in the stilt house at 7:30pm. Feel fee to enjoy typical wine, known as "ruou can" with the host.

Overnight: Mai Chau stilt home

Day 2: Mai Chau to Hanoi (B,L)

Take a jog around the village come 7:30am before your light breakfast at 8:00am. At approximately 8:30am, you will begin your hike to the 1000 Step Cave and the local market. Break for lunch and free time to recover between 12:15pm to 3:00pm. Then, begin your journey back to Hanoi for a 6:30pm arrival in the Old Quarter.
