This was one of the best tours that I've ever taken! Our tour guide Francesca Messina was AWESOME!!! She was so enthusiastic about the subject matter that it was easy for us to get swept up in it. This tour is a bit like giving a pet some medicine in a glob of peanut butter...it uses Dan Brown's book as a way to pleasantly digest and appreciate a lot of the history that occurred in Florence. I knew I was being tricked into learning history, but I absolutely loved it! :-
Our guide was lovely, smart and knowledgeable. The whole experience was perfect. The ticket to entry into other sites and the guide book were nice additions.
The tour guide was sensational. It was a history lesson we will never forget as well as seeing special places from the book and movie. Recommend to everyone.
A very informative tour by a passionate and very knowledgeable guide, Mario.
We did the half-day tour. The only reason I rated the tour 4, not 5 was not the fault of our guide. Our guide was great and the tour was good but- the Italian government was having a special event in the Pallazzo Vecchio, and this greatly affected the tour. Since this was a scheduled event, it would have been nice to get an email ahead of time a day or so to give us a heads up this was going to happen. Viator as a provider should be able to do that. We could not explore the secret passageways, and could not get into the ground floor level of the large rooms b/c the event was being held there. Our guide did manage to make a great recovery, doing as much as we could there, but the entrance to the Pallazzo was closed off so we had to essentially go in the normal tour exit and do everything in reverse. It obviously caused her some difficulties with the order and flow, and so we did not get the full effect in the front end of the tour. All of the rest of the tour was fantastic. We spent a great deal of time in the baptistery and the skip the line for the clock tower and dome climbs was great. Highly recommended.
It was okay but there wasn't really all that much about the Inferno book.
After spending 30 days in Europe and taking our grandson on so many tours of museums, churches, historical sites, etc., we were looking forward to this Dan Brown Tour which I booked just for him. He is a big fan of the Dan Brown movies and was looking forward to seeing all the sights associated with the movie. Our tour guide was great but the tour was not what we expected. 70 of the time was spent on Florence history and art history which he was totally bored with. 30 of the tour was spent on the Dan Brown movie. I don't think the tour description is accurate and I was very disappointed for him. This tour was 3 hours long. I would recommend looking for another tour that is one hour in length and just focuses on the movie. I would not recommend this tour if you are just looking for the Dan Brown experience. It is definitely not for teenagers who have read the books and enjoyed the movies.
