We felt very fortunate to have Will as our guide to see and experience this tour of the central highlands. He was very helpful beforehand in suggesting the newish Bannockburn Experience. This interactive activity enabled all of our family of 4 to learn the background and actors in the Battle of Bannockburn and then to participate in a digital re-enactments of the Battle, with different family members on opposite sides. Prior to that we stopped at the foot of the hill below Stirling Castle and Will took a nice family picture for us.From there it was on to Callendar and a stop at Mohr Bread for scrumptious fare that included meat pies, bridies, macaroni and cheese pies, apple turnovers and eclairs! From there we made our way to the gravesite of Rob Roy (with a stop by a loch for some trick panoramic photography!). On then to an adventurous climb for a stunning view over Loch Voil at the MacLaren Clan gathering spot. For those not up to the climb, there was a comfy seat and friendly company to be had at a local pub. Will is a veritable treasure trove of historical information. We appreciated learning whilst taking in the beauty of the area. Knowing I was keen to see a Highland “coo”, we made a quick stop to do so and lastly before dropping us off at Scran and Scallie for dinner, Will took us by Dean Village for more photos and to tell us about that area. It was a wonderful day with good fun had by all and we highly recommend this tour! (Cheers, Will!)
I prefer off the beaten path experiences and sites. From the outset, Will was communicative, responsive, and really heard what I had to say. On a couple of our stops, I am confident in saying I was the only tourist there. Great conversation, terrific sites, It went exactly as I was hoping. Very highly recommended.
Our favorite tour of our 3 week holiday. We chose the eastern highlands because we wanted to see St Andrews. Chris was a perfect guide mixing humor, history and hidden gems of each area. St. Andrews was beautiful, as well as the surrounding area. We had a mix of driving and walking. We had the best and freshest fish and chips in Scotland. A great day. Thanks again Chris.
We absolutely loved our tour with Will!!!!! He took us to a great local eatery for lunch and was beyond flexible. It really felt like we were just hanging out with a local. He was beyond personable and quite knowledgeable!!!
