Stop At: Buddhist Temple, Unnamed Road, ตำบล บ้านกาด อำเภอ แม่วาง เชียงใหม่ 50360, Thailand

One of the most unique experiences in Thailand is a visit to a Buddhist temple to offer alms to the Buddhist monks. Each morning before dawn, the monks put on their distinctive saffron robes and quietly pad in their bare feet along the streets, carrying alms bowls and receiving boiled rice and condiments from the citizens of Thailand In return people receive the monks’ blessings. A brief exploration at the Srisodain temple may be made as well, religious festivals permitting.

Stop At: Wiang Kum Kam, Chiang Mai Thailand

we head to the city ruins of Wiang Kum Kam, one of the latest discoveries around Chiang Mai. Wiang Kum Kam was a settlement long before King Mangrai’s capital around 1287- 90. Frequent flooding caused Mangrai to move, but the place remained important throughout the Lanna period. The area was restored as a historical park during the 1980-iess.Surrounded by paddy and village houses, the extensive site has a pleasant rural feel, yet it is very close to Chiang Mai.

Stop At: Mae Ping River, Chiang Mai Thailand

We will move on to the riverbanks of the Ping River, the main water artery that flows through Chiang Mai. We will sail over the river for approximately 45 minutes before disembarkation and a short drive back to your hotel.

We appreciate to follow the guidelines during the alms procession at the temple. Your guide will be able to explain how to approach the monks. It is customary that women are not allowed to directly touch Buddhist monks for which we ask for your kind understanding
