Available in a morning and an afternoon version, customers are welcomed by our local representative for a short transfer from your Chiang Mai hotel (conditions apply) to the Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park. The park is a well-designed area where numerous pavilions, all constructed in a sustainable way and using materials that have the least amount of damage on the environment, each display the of elephant poo and its rich content fibres. Guided by English-speaking assistance on spot, the walk passes 8 different, Thai-style pavilions where the processes of getting to the final, workable product are easily explained for young and old. The diversity of the end product, paper, and your creativity to create your own paper product with a hands-on introduction will give visitors a whole new and refreshing look in the use of what is often labelled as improper.

Signs and images guide customers through the well-maintained park; the open –air theme with its 8 pavilions spread throughout the area offer not only an insight in the conservative reasons for the opening of the Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park. Elements of the history of Chiang Mai, the importance of the elephant in Thai history and the development of paper, dating back almost 2000 years to its birthplace – China - are woven into the walk. At the end, it is all you and paper making! Fun for the whole family, guests are encouraged to partake in the paper making process and learn the finer art from the staff standing by. Ample time to take pictures and getting tips and hints to perfect your poo poo paper making techniques by skilled artists and park guides. It is here when the often head-turning fun starts. Visitors are encouraged to pull up a stool, roll up their sleeves and join together with their talented artisans and guides and participate in our head-turning process! Your half day tour ends with freshening up after digging into the buckets and move towards the exit for a short transfer back to your accommodation.

This tour is operated on private transfer basis from and to the starting point but the customers will join with other customers and is operated with English-speaking guide only.
Transfers are only operated within the downtown Chiang Mai areas and restricted to main hotels only. Regions outside the central business district such as Hang Dong, Doi Saket, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai International Airport are excluded.
We always will make efforts to confirm the exact pick-up time upon reservation. For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.
Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us on this tour – even when it is cloudy, the sunrays still have an immense power.
It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct hotel information, should pick-up and drop-off services be included in the package. Any changes in accommodation outside 48 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 48 hours may be on request.
