Located in the quaint coastal town of Betty’s Bay in the Overberg, Stony Point Nature Reserve is home to a unique colony of African penguins. Stony Point offers the public the chance to see these wonderful flightless birds up close, via the boardwalk through the colony, which allows the public to observe the penguins go about their daily activities in their natural habitat, without disturbing or disrupting them.
The colony lies on the site of the old Waaygat Whaling Station, which was used to harvest and process Whale meat in the early to mid-1900s. Remnants of the machinery and infrastructure for this long-defunct industry can still be found at the site.

stopped on route home from whale watching to see the penguin's, had to pay to get in, saw a great deal of penguins and how the lived in there little huts,we had no guide while were were in there so walked around on our own, only had about 20 mins there witch is quite long enough
I was disappointed because the whaling season is past and although I did see penguins I had to book a separate taxi for myself to come back and see the other attractions in the area such as Cheetah Experience and the Stellenbosch wineries ...it could have all been combined into one tour. furthermore the driver insisted on me paying another 500 Rand because I was a single passenger despite you having accepted my booking! and his car was not the best quality in terms of air conditioning Etc so I feel I did NOT get value for money on this tour
