Bordeaux city tour

The building is amazing, the transport links to get there are easy, the view from the top with your glass of wine is different to the other views of the city. The museum itself is set out with audio tours which is helpful as you can walk around at your own pace. We had been to 2 other wine museums in Bordeaux by this point, and I think, if we went again, we would go here first. Very detailed information on the soil, climate, region, flavour and manufacturing. Sadly we missed the seminars that might have been more interesting, including the tastings, as it was March and they were not running them in English. If a tasting class or the sensory room had been open in English that might have made this into THE place to learn about wine. Would go back if visited Bordeaux again.
La Cité du Vin is a great experience - fun and informative. But it turns out the time and date we went late afternoon on a Tuesday in July, the skip the line feature was unnecessary!
Viator was excellent but I was disappointed with the museum
A great addition to Bordeaux. Not terribly well organised once you are inside the exhibition - we were not sure which way to go a few times. Also a number of the exhibits end up with quite a queue waiting to use them. We spent 2.5 hours there and could have seen more if it had been clearer how you were meant to progress through the exhibition. By the time we got to some of the later exhibits - which might have been good - we were getting tired No long queue - even in late July - but good to know we would not have been held up if there had been.
When we arrived, there was no line so I am not sure if the skip-the-line was needed but the overall experience was incredible! We ate a lovely lunch on the 7th floor, toured the permanent exhibit, wandered through the building, and enjoyed a tasting glass of wine. Excellent afternoon. My only suggestion is to book a table in the restaurant in advance. We were lucky as there were cancellations.
