Presently, it is called Gaudi’s crypt. Gaudi also had a laboratory here, where he came up with innovative architectural marvels. Most of his work for the Sagrada Familia was inspired at this location. The crypt itself is a spectacular sight, although it is not fully complete. The geometric patterns and vibrant colors of the stained glasswork make this one of the greatest unfinished works of art in the world. The monument blends wonderfully into nature and is a testament to the genius of Antoni Gaudí. Recently, an effort by the local architects resulted in a partial completion of the crypt. Presently, people can stand on the roof, which was initially to serve as the floor of the church.
A train ride will take you from Barcelona to Colònia Güell. The train from Barcelona to Colonia Güell takes around 25 minutes. The meeting point for the train ride is from the station Plaça Espanya. The two way ticket is valid for two zones, an entrance into the famous Gaudi crypt and the audioguide.

From there, walk a couple of minutes, again following the signs, to the Visitors' Center, where you will be given an audioguide and a map in order to start your visit. You are required to deposit some form of identification (ID) as a deposit until the audioguide is returned.

When you have finished touring the place, you must return the audioguide 10 minutes before the Visitors Centre closes, post which you can return to Barcelona.
