I didn’t know it was a guided tour until I got there. I meant to leave the group after entering the park to have more relaxed visit but ended up staying with it as the guide was so nice, enthusiastic, interesting and knowledgeable. My friend and I enjoyed it very much!
We had the pleasure to get Vanessa as our guide and except from her huge knowledge about the history of Barcelona and it's big personalities, she was very dedicated and inspiring to listen to. Her english was both very good and dynamic and she was always prepared for answering all kinds of questions. A beautiful Sunday in Park Güell!
Here are my issues with this. 1)You are not clearly told where to pick up your tickets. I went to 3 offices and the proper location is a 5 minute walk away from Park Guell on a side street Larrard I believe. 2) I don't think the tour guides gave us the right tickets. No where on my voucher does it list that this was a guided tour. I was expecting a regular roam free ticket for inside the parc and got a limited (can't leave you guide sorta deal) instead. 3) Tour guide wasn't overly informative. 4) Not what I signed up for. Don't bother getting this ticket. Buy from the Park Guell site directly for Park freedom and 10euro.
Worth taking the tour for information about the park. Issac from Europa tours, was very knowledgeable and keep our attention through out. Splendid place colourful and Guell was a genius. Timed tours so it was never over crowded. Great Day out.
The ticket purchased on line was actually a voucher which meant a trip to an office outside the front lower gate. Be sure to note that address and bring contact phone# with you. We located office and was informed of an email sent, previous day,to advise a delay in time to visit. 1|2 hr.later then scheduled. Note the tkt was for monument visitation. So we toured the park first which was awesome by itself. The monument portion was stunning however there was a lot of remediation going on. FYI....there was a snack /sandwich shop within this area...it reminded me of NYC , an episode out of Seinfeld. Great Visit...
Viator was great - the local ticket provider was out of business when we arrived to pick up our tickets. Viator procured our tickets directly and sent to me via email the prior to the day. I used the emailed ticket for entry. PHEW - thanks Viator The park was ok, some interesting buildings and design
Individual experience, the park and buildings are designed by Gaudi. Worth to see, UNESCO heritage! The inner part is with the ticket, where having ticket at all for the day of visit and skip the line worth a lot, the surronded part is for free.
Firstly the GPS location was not accurate, took me a lot of time to ask people. Secondly when I arrived, the guy took 15 mins to find my ticket. I didn’t understand his problem. He finally gave me one ticket but he said he would give me his phone number in case I could not go in. When I arrived at the park, the staff could not validate my ticket because he said someone already used it. In the end, I found out my ticket belong to one of a group ticket. 3 people went in already and my ticket was the fourth one. Finally the staff allowed me in after verify with his colleague. With so much trouble I think buy from website is better.
The park was amazing. The walk up was a bit of a challenge from the Hop on Hop off bus. If you are booking through Viator make sure you go to the right ticket office. Dont go all the way up like I did to find that you have to go down again.
Glad we booked this ahead of time as it was sold out when we got there.
