Auckland City Highlights Tour & Sky Tower

The day starts with a splendid 3-hour overview of New Zealand's largest and most vibrant city, Auckland, known as the 'City of Sails'. You will travel in style in a luxury coach and experience full commentary by a knowledgeable driver. You will be dropped at the Sky Tower, entry included in the tour, which you can browse at your own pace. The tour highlights range from the waterfront beaches along Tamaki Drive, the magnificent views of the Hauraki Gulf, Auckland Museum and the historical buildings of the central business district The day starts with hotel/motel pickup from the Auckland city. There are multilingual headsets available which feature commentary in Mandarin, Japanese and Spanish. Departing from Downtown Auckland, your tour takes you along Queen Street, the "Golden Mile" of Aucklands business and shopping district. Many of the early buildings dating back to the 1880s still remain, threaded amongst the modern high-rise buildings of today. Drive past New Zealands largest University before traveling across Aucklands Harbour Bridge for expansive views of Waitemata Harbour, boat marinas, and the city skyline. The city has 48 extinct volcanic sites, many of which can be seen as we make our way through the domain, parks and garden areas. Continue your drive through Parnell Rise - a popular shopping area, Parnell Rose Gardens, Paritai Drive, Tamaki Drive and the Waterfront. Visit Auckland Domain, one of Auckland's oldest parks. Then, see the Auckland Museum: established in 1852, the Museum tells a story of New Zealand, its people, and its place in the Pacific. It is also a War Memorial for Auckland and houses one of New Zealand's three heritage libraries. This 75-hectare park also features the Winter Gardens, established after World War 1 and consists of two glasshouses containing temperate and tropical plants. You will be dropped off at the Sky Tower: standing at 328 meters high, it is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand. Travel up the glass-fronted lifts to the observation deck and enjoy 360-degree views of Auckland. Your visit to Sky Tower includes audiovisual displays detailing the history of Auckland. You will be able to browse the Auckland Sky Tower at your own pace, we strongly recommend being in the tower at the end of the day when there is a change of light at dusk. The tour is open-ended and finishes at the Sky Tower.
